Android Dick, a robot created to essentially “be” science fiction writer Philip K. Dick, is an early attempt at creating an actual thinking and reasoning artificial intelligence that also has creativity and compassion. The first version of this android was created in 2005 and has been an incredible work of progress since then.

In 2011, on the PBS show Nova, they interviewed Android Dick. Some of the answers he gave were pretty typical of what you’d expect a robot to say. Others were impressive and at times, eerie. He did have a rather ominous message for us:

Worth noting, more than 1,000 scientists and experts like Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking, signed a letter that warned of the dangers of the hasty development of artificial intelligence. Android Dick doesn’t seem too worried though.
