4 "Mistakes" No One Should Apologize For

1. Making decisions for yourself and putting your needs first.

Even the people you consider closest to you may not always have your best interests at heart, and that will come to light when you begin making decisions for yourself that put your needs first, not decisions that conform with what the people in your life want you to do. When they do get mad, don't rise to their anger. Just let it go. They've revealed themselves.

2. Falling in love with the "wrong" one.

Don't you love it when you start dating the one your friends think is wrong for you? They try to have the come-to-Jesus talk with you, but you don't date certain types of people for the approval of your friends or family. You date who exactly you feel like dating. Even if it's possible they aren't the right one for you, oh well! There are lessons there for you to learn.

3. Wanting more than what you currently have.

I don't mean in a greedy kind of way, but in a you can do better for yourself kind of way. Of course, it's important to know that you're probably doing better than many people in this world, but it doesn't mean you can strive for better. You may experience some blowback if you want to move to another city where you can do better for yourself or take on a different career, but none of that really matters. See #1.

4. Living counter to the mainstream.

I have a lot of appreciation for people who live counter to the mainstream, but unfortunately, people with my attitude are few and far between. Still, you don't have to conform to what people expect of you. You can absolutely be yourself, no matter who that is.
