Quran McCain and Cheryl McGregor first met in 2012 when Quran was just a 15-year-old teenager. The young man was working at the Dairy Queen at the time, which was owned by Cheryl's son.

Naturally, because of his young age, nothing happened at the time. However, the couple has come a long way since.

There were no romantic feelings shared between the pair when they first met. However, when they met again in 2020, the story took a turn. They attempted to be friends but quickly realized that they had feelings for one another. Quran was working as a caretaker while Cheryl was a cashier at a convenience store.

Despite Quran being younger than some of Cheryl's kids, the pair couldn't deny their connection. They had great chemistry and Quran explains: "We connected on a spiritual level" he adds: "We went on a date, and I told her like I'm catching feelings." Cheryl reciprocated the feelings and the couple got engaged about a year later.

Now the couple is married and is living together. They feel ready to take the next step and grow their own family. This will be Quran's first baby, but as for Cheryl, she is already a mother of seven and grandmother of 17.

Due to Cheryl's age, she can't risk having her own biological child, so they're looking for a surrogate. "We are looking for a nice surrogate who is willing to sign a contract to have nothing to do with the child after it's born. We don't want people trying to have a baby for us for financial gain, we are not that financially inclined ourselves."

The couple is ready to start a family of their own and is exploring the options to make that dream a reality: "We got married in September 2021, and it's been a few months since we are ready to start a family. Cheryl is 61 and has seven children and seventeen grandchildren already, but we feel we deserve children of our own."

The couple is aware of the age gap but doesn't feel like that should stop them from going after what their heart desires: "Even though it is an age gap we never think of it because Cheryl has a very young spirit, soul, and heart," explains Quran.

"We have tried for children, but with age, we feel surrogacy or adoption would be a better option. Yes, we prefer surrogacy however we have seen a lot of people embroiled in legal complications far after the child is born."

The couple is aware of Cheryl's older age, but they are prepared for the risk: "We understand that I may not be there for as long as Quran is, but I have faith in him If I am not here, he can do it. He’s gonna be a great father, he’s a responsible adult. I had every bit of faith that he could raise our child and do it very well," says Cheryl.

However, due to their age, the couple faces a lot of criticism: "I think the biggest misconception is that I'm using her or waiting to be put in the will," explains Quran. However, the pair is happy and doesn't care what anyone thinks.

Cheryl adds: 'It's different, it's amazing, he's very compassionate to me, and I think it's because he's a younger man."

Not everyone in the couple's life is supportive of their choice to be together and to have a baby. "Some of her seven kids turned on her due to her dating a younger black man. She was very hurt. It hurt her because she raised them not to be like that..," explains Quran.

Quran's family seemed supportive, however, as they could see how happy he was. Quran said: "Nobody was accepting, everyone thought we were joking or thought it was all games."

The couple continues to live happily whether they're accepted by others or not.
