5 Traits That Push Others Away
1. Conceitedness.
Conceitedness will push anyone away in a social setting. Story after story about how great you are communicates to everyone that you have an over-inflated ego and suck to be around.
Chime in with what you’ve got to say, but don’t overdo it.
2. Selfishness.
Self-preservation is important, but selfishness is ugly.
Constantly putting your own preferences before others is not a great way to keep friends and family in your life. Consider how selfishness might negatively harm people.
3. Self-righteousness.
No one cares about your self-righteousness. It’s good to have high self esteem about you and your beliefs, but don’t shove it down the throats of others.
There’s no reason for that kind of behavior and it will push people away.
4. Complaining.
Complaining is fine. It’s good to get shit off your chest if it’s been weighing on you.
But people who complain and do nothing to fix what they’re complaining about are the height of obnoxious. This behavior will push people away.
5. Laziness.
Perhaps one of the greatest sins of all, laziness pushes people away by making them realize nothing is truly important to you – including them.
