My Biggest Regrets In Life

10 Decisions You Will Regret In 10 Years

Being lazy.

There's no benefit from being a lazy person. You aren't owed anything by the world. If you want it, take it. If you can't take it, work for it.

No billionaire ever built their wealth by playing angry birds.

Putting it off.

This is kind of like being lazy except maybe slightly more proactive. Don't put it off until tomorrow.

If you have something you should be working on today, right now, then get started. If you put off your goals by a day, it'll come a day later. Who wants that?

Micromanaging things.

Your life and the people in it aren't your puppets and you aren't the puppet master. Take a deep breath and quit micromanaging. I'm sure the people in your life are competent.

Settling for less.

Don't ever settle for less. Not at work, not at home, not with your partner, not with your hobbies, not with your paygrade - don't settle for less than what you want.

Giving up.

I always say the time is going to pass anyway, so why not spend the time working hard at what you need to accomplish, even if you fail from time to time.

Fearing change.

Change is going to come. You can either be afraid of it and let it run you over or you can welcome the changes and do what you can to stay ahead of the game and get out ahead of potential problems.

Being an egomaniac.

I'm sure you're a smart person and you deserve to feel good about yourself, but check your ego. No one is truly the best at everything, or maybe even anything.

There's always someone better. So don't be too into yourself.

Keeping bad friends.

You can break up with your friends. It's fine. There comes a time when people have run their course in your life.

I've always believed that some people are here to teach you lessons. Don't be afraid to learn them and move on.

Letting someone else create your dreams.

Your parents may want you to major in business, your church may want you to become a priest, and your teachers may want you to play a sport, but that doesn't mean you should.

You're here to create your own dreams.

Being someone you're not.

There's no need to wear a mask of someone else to make people like you. The right people will like you for who you are.
