Couple Go From 0 To 5 kids In 9 months After Thinking They Couldn’t Have A Baby, But The Surprises Kept Coming

This couple wished for nothing more than to grow their family. They prayed for their own child but were told that they couldn't conceive naturally. Sarah and Andy Justice decided to adopt a child. But it went in a direction they could have never expected.

Natural Pregnancy Wasn't Possible
Sarah and Andy Justice were happy and in love, and while they felt grateful for each other, they wished to add a child to their family. For years they tried to conceive but couldn't. Finally, the couple decided to go see a specialist.
Although they knew that it wouldn't be an easy journey, Sarah and Andy didn't hear the news they were hoping for. The doctors told them that IVF would cost them between $30,000–60,000, and they'd still have just a 10 percent chance of getting pregnant. The couple would have to find another option...
The First Surprise
After struggling with fertility for years, the couple decided to look into adoption. They were soon paired with a birth mother and were overjoyed to be able to welcome a baby into the world. Sarah wanted to be involved in the pregnancy process and decided to accompany the birth mother to her ultrasound.
It was at that appointment that doctors revealed to Sarah her first life-changing surprise. She wouldn't be taking home just one baby but 3. The birth mother was pregnant with triplets! Sarah remembers thinking: "Wow! This is great," "It's everything we wanted."
The Second Surprise
Sarah and Andry couldn't believe their luck. After all, this would grow their family with three additional children at once so that they wouldn't have to go through the process again. The babies were born premature but healthy. Joel, Hannah, and Elizabeth weighed only 3 pounds and were brought home to live happy lives with their new parents.
Right when the couple thought they finally had achieved their dream of starting a family, they were shocked when the second surprise came along. Sarah was actually pregnant herself. That wasn't it! She was pregnant with her own set of twins.
Never Say Never
Sarah couldn't believe her luck once again. She went from believing that she would never have children to being blessed with five in less than a year. She remembers being at her own ultrasound and hearing "One is a boy," only to think, "One!?" Never would she doubt the power of fate again, "That'll teach me to keep my mouth shut" she laughed in an interview.
While being overjoyed with the news, the couple understood that it would also take a lot of work: "I was shocked, and a bit overwhelmed because I got to thinking, added it up and I'm like, wow, if they go to term we're about five babies in eight months. But we were really excited because it was something we’ve been dreaming of and longing for years."
Everything Happens For A Reason
When people hear of the couple's story some feel bad for them or assume that they were way over their heads. While they knew that the next step would be a challenge, they were ready to take it. All of their dreams were coming true "No, really, we were very happy. Did we panic a little? Of course. But we were very happy."
Of course, having their own biological twins would not take away from the triplets, who the couple considered to be their children just as much. In fact, Andy believes the twins may not have even come along had the adoption not worked out so well and taken away the stress of never having children. He believes in fate, saying: "Maybe it's all connected."
It Takes A Village
The twins were born healthy and the family grew from two to seven in the span of just one year. This was the most life-changing year of their life, but it is a lot of work. The parents aren't able to get much sleep and confirm: "we don't sit down much either." Luckily they've got their whole community behind them, supporting their needs and making their dream a reality.
Friends and family organized a rotation schedule to help Sarah while Andy is at work, and their Church congregation brought home-cooked meals. The process is pricey too. The babies go through 84 bottles and 300 diapers a week, but they managed to get them all in donations.
"We've been very, very blessed," Andy said. Sarah agrees, and while they could never have predicted how their family would grow when they prayed for one, she adds: "God has a great sense of humor."
A New Purpose
The children have become the center of this couple's life: "My husband says all we do is babies; everything else in life has pretty much stopped," Sarah said. “But it was something we've wanted so badly that we love it. It’s not to say it’s not a lot of work and we’re not tired a lot, but it’s great. We just really love having these children."
The babies have since grown up to become beautiful happy, and healthy children, and the family has even added one more to the group. They all get to grow up surrounded by love and other children to share life with and learn from.
