8 Things You Need Start Doing For Yourself
1. Just smile.
Flashing those pearly whites is good for your soul. According to Psychology Today: “The act of smiling activates neural messaging that benefits your health and happiness."
2. Be grateful.
Take a moment to be grateful for all that you have in life. Think about where you've been and where you think you're headed. Being grateful will improve your happiness overall.
3. Spend time in nature.
Being outside and soaking in all of nature's allure helps relieve stress and can be the best medicine. Even just a quick 5 minute meditation in the woods can leave you on the right track.
4. Give yourself a little TLC.
Read a book at the park. Have a daytime beer. Treat yourself to a good dinner out. Spend an hour at a day spa. Sleep in.
Treat yourself once in a while. Give yourself a little bit of TLC. Take a day that's just for you. Treat yo'self!
5. Live in the moment.
This moment right now is the only thing we can truly count on. We're here, we've survived, we're alive, now make the best of it. Think less about the future on focus on the here and now.
6. Establish boundaries.
With your spouse, your friends, your coworkers, even with your children, establish your boundaries. Make it known what is and isn't okay. Make it known what your breaking point is.
7. Avoid toxic people.
Toxic people, toxic work, toxic food, toxic everything. Avoid it! Weed it out in as many situations as you can.
8. Share your bounty.
If you've managed to get through 1-7, you're probably in a pretty good spot in life. Share your blessings, whether or not its money. You can volunteer time too. Be a beacon of hope in this demon haunted world of ours.
