Twins are said to share a special bond, especially identical twins. After all, before they even set foot into our world, they share a small space in the womb where they learn to form a life together. This bond only gets stronger as they grow up side by side. Some studies have even found that twins might share a telepathic connection.

However, is there a point where they lose their individuality and become mirrors of each other? Jill Justiniani and Erin Cheplak are Identical twins who tend to do a lot of things in life together including becoming parents, on the same day, in the same hospital, and within hours of each other...

But Jill Justiniani and Erin Cheplak were very close since they were babies. They grew up side by side, surprisingly getting along for the most part. They were attached to the hips.

Jill explains: "We played together, slept together, ate together. My parents would talk about how we had our own language together. We'd be in our cribs side to side and make these cooing sounds. I'd make a sound and Erin would respond."

Naturally, when the twins became adults they followed the exact same path. They both got married and couldn't wait to have their own kids. Somehow they managed to get the stars to align in their favor and even got pregnant at the same time. The coincidences kept piling up to the point where one sister's water broke on the exact same day that the other was scheduled for a C-section. On May 5, the 30-year-old twin sisters beat the odds by giving birth to near-identical baby boys within hours of each other.

The sisters had only hoped to get pregnant together but never did they imagine that they would also share the experience of giving birth together. Retelling the action-packed day, Jill remembers: "The morning of our scheduled C section date my sister called me and said 'don't freak out but my water just broke.'"

While from Erin's perspective, she explains: "I called my husband, Zach, and I said, 'Okay, this isn't a joke. My water just broke. I'm going to need you to come home from work and take me to labor and delivery,' "

"My next phone call was to Jill and I said, 'Okay, this isn't a joke, but I'm pretty sure my water just broke.' Jill's like, 'All right. Well, I'll see you there.'

Luckily the twins and their babies didn't have to say goodbye at the hospital. When Jill and her husband Ian welcomed their baby boy Oliver at 6:39 PM, they only had to make a short trip across the hall to join Erin and her husband Zach in their room at 11.31 PM. All four new parents were there to congratulate each other and share the emotional experience of giving life from themselves to their first child.

The twins were discharged at the same time and while they were to return to their respective homes, they luckily lived just five minutes apart and knew they would raise these babies together.

The two new families of three were in awe of their own experience. Not only were they grateful to be able to share it together but for the support, they felt from one another: "It was the four of us and all being a support system together," says Erin. "They were there for my strong contractions, I could not have gotten through that without that support."

Even the dads and the staff at the hospital were amazed by the coincidental full life that these twins had lived. For instance, Zach, who is a twin and married to Erin explains:

"We knew Oliver's numbers. "Then the nurse did Silas's weight and length. Exactly the same. 'I said, 'You got to be kidding me,' " he continues. "It was just incredible."

Built In Best Friends

Just like the twins grew up closely together, always having a second person to lean on, play with and experience life's ups and downs with, they hope the same for their children. They are built-in best friends who are destined to love each other unconditionally, even long after their parents depart.

The twins have spoken out in interviews saying that they were grateful their sons would have the same bond growing up that they had had. "We're so incredibly close and we're so thankful that our sons have the same opportunity and the same experience coming their way," they said.

Despite the judgment of some that these twins may be taking their bond a little too far, t's hard not to wonder if this story happened exactly the way it was always meant to, in a fateful plan from the universe itself. "Part of me was thinking, 'What are the odds of this? I can't believe this is happening,' but there was also a sense of calm about it because it was like of course this is happening," said Jill.

It's like the universe always knew that their tight bond was meant to live on even past them: "We’ve just been so close and so inseparable, it made complete sense in a very odd way."

The twins are happy and grateful no matter what anyone else thinks. "It's such a blessing being so close," says Erin. Their lives stopped being ordinary the moment they were born twins, so why should they feel like they have to live inside the box?

"Being identical twins, Jill and I know no difference, other than spending all of life's journeys together," says Erin. "It's an experience that has been amazing and it's something that Jill and I cherish so much.

"We're each other's best friends and to know that our sons are going to grow up with the opportunity for a similar experience is a huge blessing," she continues. "We're so grateful for that."
