On January 5th, 2015, NASA released an image taken of one of our closest galactic neighbors, the Andromeda Galaxy. It was captured using the Hubble Telescope, but this really is a whole new level even for Hubble.
They shot 411 images and stuck them together to create this whopping 1.5 billion pixel image. It requires 4.3 GB of disk space to contain all of it!
What we see are 100 million stars over 40,000 light years. You might find yourself feeling very very small, but that’s okay, because so are the rest of us.
