5 Reasons To Break Off A Friendship
1. There is no loyalty.
True friends will be loyal to you. They won’t spill your secrets or talk shit behind your back.
They’re there to support you in every way they can, not sabotage you when you’re not watching.
2. Their friendship isn’t the same.
They used to be someone you got along perfectly with. No matter how much time passed, you met up and picked up where you left off.
Unfortunately, that’s not exactly the case anymore. That chemistry seems to be gone. Your friend now seems like a stranger.
3. The friendship is damaging you.
If the friendship isn’t making you happy anymore, and mostly it’s making you miserable, it’s time to say goodbye.
You shouldn’t feel trapped inside of your friendships. Friends are supposed to help you soar, not weigh you down.
4. You’re the only one who cares.
If your friend is the type of person who hangs out with you maybe and only if you invite them out, forget them.
There’s no need to be doing all the work in the friendship. They have to want to spend time with you, not just do it because they have nothing better going on.
5. They don’t believe in you.
If your friend doesn’t believe in you, let them go. If you go for a promotion and they tell you you won’t get it, or if you start a business and they tell you you’ll fail, it’s not worth it keeping them around.
Of course, constructive criticism is great! But there’s a difference between constructive criticism and just believing that you won’t succeed at anything you do.
