There are a variety of things that you need in order to maintain a successful relationship with your significant other.
Most of these things or qualities should come naturally, but if you need some help/guidance toward the right direction of where you should take your relationship next, then you have come to the right place.
It is important that you recognize when you or your partner are unhappy with one another. The unhappier they are, the more obvious it will become that there are some issues that need to be dealt with first.
The first thing you must do is be willing to listen as to what your partner has to tell you what they need in order for this relationship to work.
If you are unwilling to cooperate, then communication will prove to be difficult and make it that much harder for you both to come to an understanding with one another.
1. Be Their Best Friend
It is important for you to recognize that you are not only your partners lover but you are their best friend out of everyone else they know too.
They spend just as much time with you then they would their regular friends, so this means that you should be willing to understand them on a personal level simply because you both have so much in common.
Be there for your partner, show them that you are willing to listen and show them that you are willing to come to a resolution for the sake of your friendship as well as relationship.

2. Trust Each Other
You must place all your trust in the other person that you are with.
If you do not trust them entirely with everything that you have as a person or just in general, then you both need to communicate that to each other.
Trust is one of the most important qualities to a relationship that you both must be willing to give.
Even if it means telling them over and over again that you trust them or that they trust you, it’s important that you both feel and know that about each other.
If you do not have a solid foundation of trust in your relationship, expect to see a lot of problems.
3. Need For Intimacy
Intimacy is also one of the most necessary components to a successful relationship.
If you have noticed a lack of intimate moments between you and your partner, it may be time to have a talk with them about your needs in the bedroom as well as their own needs.
It’s important that you both communicate to each other what is working and what is not working intimately between the two of you.
You must find a way to reignite that magic between the two of you.
4. Support Each Other
This should go without saying, but supporting each other is a pretty basic quality to every relationship that makes them successful in the long run.
If you do not find support from your partner in the things that you do or you do not wish to support any of the things that they enjoy themselves, then expect to have a lot of problems in your relationship.
You must be willing to try at least like some of the things that they do as well as them wanting to do some of the things that you’re interested in.
5. Expose Your Vulnerable Side
It is important that both of you are willing to share a vulnerable side with one another.
If you do not show weakness or let your partner see you weak, then they will not be able to help you deal with some of your emotional stress. The same goes for them.
Do not bottle up your emotions, talk to your partner about what upsets you and what makes you the happiest in life. They will feel comfortable enough to do the same.
Ultimately, communication is key when it comes to relationships. If you want yours to be successful, you are going to have to learn how to listen and talk to your loved one in order to get everything out of them that you want.
Set a good example by letting them in to your world and they will do the same for you.
