On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, the Earth, sun and moon will align to create a Blood Moon eclipse. Mark your calendars.

This is not just any blood moon as it is also a lunar eclipse, making it a huge transformational path in astrological and spiritual realms. This is a time when energy will reach its full peak making it most powerful for manifestations but also emotional. Destined events can lead to endings, revelations, breakthroughs and breakdowns.

Eclipses are rare because they can only take place when the Sun, the Earth and the Moon are all aligned. The Year 2022 has had 4 eclipses, 2 solar eclipses and 2 lunar eclipses. This one is also a Blood Moon; here's what that means for you.

Take a quick zodiac reading here to find out what the universe has to say about you right now.

This is the last total lunar eclipse for the next three years as the next one after November 8, 2022, won't take place until March 14, 2025. While during the time in between, we will continue to see partial and penumbral lunar eclipses, none will hold the amount of energy this one possesses.

A lunar eclipse happens when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align so the Moon passes into Earth's shadow. In a total lunar eclipse, the entire Moon falls within the darkest part of Earth’s shadow, also known as the umbra. The Umbra gives the moon its signature red shade which makes it known as the "Blood Moon."

On the other hand, the energy of the blood has been building for weeks and it's bound to go through an explosive release. Lunar eclipses are always highly charged periods, meaning you're likely to be triggered with deep emotions.

Lunar eclipses are three times more powerful and emotional than full moons. They push you to confront whatever it is that you're repressing, causing your most internal fears, feelings and actions to surface. Astrologers say that some of the most memorable moments in our lifetimes take place near solar or lunar eclipses.

The events that take place around the blood moon may bleed into the following weeks until the energy is fully spent.

What Makes The Moon Red

During a lunar eclipse, Earth's atmosphere scatters sunlight. The blue light from the Sun scatters away, and longer-wavelength red, orange, and yellow light pass through, turning our Moon red.

On a scientific level, what makes the moon red is no coincidence. NASA explains it as the same phenomenon that makes our sky blue and our sunsets red, also known as Rayleigh scattering.

NASA explains: "Light travels in waves, and different colors of light have different physical properties. Blue light has a shorter wavelength and is scattered more easily by particles in Earth’s atmosphere than red light, which has a longer wavelength.

Red light, on the other hand, travels more directly through the atmosphere. When the Sun is overhead, we see blue light throughout the sky. But when the Sun is setting, sunlight must pass through more atmosphere and travel farther before reaching our eyes. The blue light from the Sun scatters away, and longer-wavelength red, orange, and yellow light pass through."

The reason the moon turns red is that the only sunlight reaching the Moon passes through Earth's atmosphere.

Moving Into The Shadow Of The Earth

When we talk of shadows and the moon moving into Earth's shadow, we are not only talking of the representation of your shadow self but the actual deep umbral shadow of the Earth. The moon moves into and receives only light first filtered by Earth's atmosphere. This is only visible from North America and parts of South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

A lunar eclipse happens when the sun, Earth and moon align. This is why during a full lunar eclipse, the moon falls completely in the Earth's shadow.
