The color of the invisible string is exactly as you would imagine: red, passionate, and vibrant. Not only is the color red strongly tied to attraction and desire but it is also the literal color of our red pumping hearts that beat faster around the person we're bound with.

The origin of the invisible string being red dates back to an ancient East Asian belief. According to the myth, the Gods tied a red string around the ankles of those that were destined to meet each other and help each other in some unpredictable but impactful way.

As the legend behind the red invisible string goes a young boy was walking home one night when he came across an old man reading a book. He asked him what he was reading. The old man said it was a book of marriages, and told the young boy he was destined to marry one of the girls.

However when the boy saw the girl that he would marry he threw a rock at her and ran away as he was still young and didn't like the idea of marriage. A few years later, the boy was arranged to marry the most beautiful girl in the village. However, when he unveiled her he noticed a small scar over her eyebrow. It turns out she was the same girl he threw a rock at long ago, as fate had brought them once again together.

In those moments it may seem easier to give up and move on to another piece of string, but that would be like going against destiny. The greatest bonds are worth fighting for.

It is tied around us to catch us so we don't fall and to keep in a line that leads to the path that allows us to reach our highest potential. The Chinese myth believes that the string emerges from us from birth, from the moment we enter the world. As we age, over time, the threads grow tighter, bringing us close to the people whose lives are destined to intertwine with ours in some way."
