The rush to be married young so you can have a long, picture-perfect romance is not only unrealistic much of the time, but truth be told, it’s kind of outdated these days. Every year, more people realize they can break society’s mold and take charge of their own love life, whether that means still choosing to marry young or potentially remaining single.

The stars actually have some insight as to who is more likely to choose a single life, with a few signs more inclined to get married later in life.

If you’re looking for more information on your life and your individual sign, then you’ll need your own zodiac reading. We’re each on our own unique path and what some struggle with this season, might not be applicable to you too.

To Be Wed

We’re taught growing up that marriage is the ultimate show of love and dedication in a relationship. Pledging to stay with someone for the rest of your life, even if it doesn’t end up working out, is a rather romantic gesture after all.

However, we’re also fed stories in which it’s mostly young couples getting married, implying that people ought to be married by a certain age or else…something. Love, marriage, those things don’t have rules or deadlines; you shouldn’t be made to feel stressed if you remain unmarried for some time.

Romantic Futures

Though loves seems rather unpredictable, there are ways to use divination tools like astrology to map out what the relationship journey of your life will look like. Will you have many partners? Is there only one soulmate out there for you? Will it be a drawn-out romance or a love-at-first-sight connection?

One insight astrology can offer is an approximation of when you’ll get married. In fact, there are certain signs that are more likely to get married later in life, putting romance to the back burner in favor of other goals. These are those signs.

Aries are known for their firey passion and swiftness in devotion. They become completely dedicated to things very quickly, happy to pour all of their attention and resources into whatever it for as long as it holds their attention.

This makes it seem like they would be the type to quickly marry in a whirlwind romance with ‘run away to Vegas to get eloped on the strip’ wedding. However, this actually isn’t the case thanks to one crucial detail.

Some Unfinished Growth

Aries value their independence.

For as reckless and wild as they seem, Aries know their own limits very well, and for many of them, they feel a marriage too early in life would do nothing but keep them trapped and rob them of their ability to go on impulsive adventures.

This works out very well, seeing as they’re also the ‘babies’ of the zodiac, a.k.a. the very first sign. Many Aries know that they still have some maturing to do before they’re ready to settle into standard adult life, and are happy to remain solo until they feel they’ve accomplished all they wish with their freedom.

Geminis are another sign that are rather well known for their commitment. They’re also curious, social, and a touch flighty. They always want to be experiencing new things, as their commitment is more to their values than it is to specific people, places, or other things.

Their endless curiosity means they prefer meeting new people on a constant rotation rather than letting one tie them down forever—at least when they’re young. They want to get in all the socializing and event-going as they can before it overwhelms them one day.

No Settling

Geminis also have very high standards. They know what they like, they know what they want, and they’re in no rush to find it. They’re happy to take the time needed to find their perfect partner.

Their desire to constantly be learning from others, paired with their unwavering standards for a potential partner, means it might take them longer to want to settle down and find the one, but Geminis don’t mind. So long as they’re having fun while single, who needs a relationship?

Aquarius marches to the beat of their own drum. Their uniqueness within the zodiac is one of their stand-out traits, and like Gemini, they’re not willing to settle when it comes to the standards they hold towards potential partners.

They’re also similar to Aries in that they’re a free spirit. They’re not as immediately adventurous as the zodiac’s first sign, but they enjoy having the option to run away on a trip should they so desire. Having a significant other might obstruct that desire.

Opting Out

Aquarius is also non-traditional. They rarely ever find value in long-held societal traditions as they feel they serve no purpose in the modern age. This leads many Aquarius folk to not really care about marriage as a concept at all. They don’t need a certificate or a ceremony to prove their love for their partner, nor do they need an audience.

There’s a big chance that an Aquarius will get married more for the benefits than the romantic notion at all, something their partner will agree with if they’ve found the right person.

Above All Else

As society marches forward and more people do away with long-standing traditions surrounding love, relationships, and marriage, more and more people are opening themselves up to the idea that their life doesn’t need to follow the lives of those before us, nor the lives of those in the media.

There’s no need for young romance, there’s love beyond high school or college sweethearts, there’s no need to lock in a spouse while still experiencing the world, and there’s nothing wrong with indulging in romance later in life.

With how unpredictable the world is day in and day out, we should all be focused on living a life that’s fulfilling to us, whether or not there’s a ring on our finger.
