This 99-Year-Old Woman Just Sewed Her 1,000th Dress For Little Girls In Africa

Just because you’re retired doesn’t mean you don’t have a purpose anymore. That’s a lesson we can all learn from Lillian Weber, the 99-year-old woman who just sewed her 1,000th dress for needy young girls in Africa.

“As soon as I get this one done, I’ll probably go for the next one,” she told a local TV station.

Lillian met her goal of 1,000 dresses before her 100th birthday in May and is pretty much the most celebrated woman at her senior community where she works to create frocks for the Christian outreach group Little Dresses for Africa.

The organization’s founder, Rachel O’Neill, promised that she would hand deliver Lillian’s dresses to the girls and send back photos of the girls wearing them, and that’s exactly what she did.
