5 Signs You Spend Too Much Time Worrying

You can't sleep.

Worry and anxiety often interrupts our sleep, one of the most important things we do for ourselves. Without proper sleep, we endanger our health and our lives. Driving a vehicle, for example, on too little sleep is often as dangerous as drinking alcohol and driving. Worry is unfortunate, it's true, and if it's interrupting your sleep, it most certainly has become an issue.

You can't relax.

It's important that, after a long day, you can relax. Worry often prevents us from doing so. What's important when you find yourself saddled by worry and anxiety, find a physical activity you enjoy doing or something you can take your mind off things with. I'm a fan of puzzles.

You're abusing food, alcohol, or drugs.

One way people sometimes relieve their stress is by abusing alcohol, drugs, or food. Comfort food is fine in moderation, and a beer is fairly harmless, but if you find yourself using any of these things to cope with your life, it may be time to seek professional assistance to talk you through your problems.

Your health is in decline

Worry, stress and anxiety take their toll over time. Worry eventually causes a decline in your health. If you don't feel as well as you used to, it may be time to rethink your priorities.

You always expect the worst.

This is one of the most self-defeating things you can do. Don't expect the worst every time. Don't expect the best every time. In fact, carry as few expectations as possible.
