Every day when you wake up you are presented with an endless array of choices. Every decision you make, as small as when you chose to wake up to who you decide to share your energy with that day, plays into the next decision and so on. On an even bigger scale, every decision you make has the power to influence the next person’s without you even realizing meaning that your choices are directly interconnected with the universe at large. Everything you do matters.

You might not notice just how much you and your decisions matter until you also make the decision to observe their butterfly effect. To get you started on this kind of mindfulness here is just a handful of examples of how one small action ended by life-changing.

Are you still searching for your life purpose? You won’t believe what the science of Numerology can reveal about you!

Making Dreams Come True

“This past summer I commented on an AskReddit (an internet post) about a small donation that I made to a charity that supports foster children and young adults who have aged out of the foster system. Redditors from around the world saw my comment and made hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to the charity, allowing kids’ wishes to be fulfilled.

Reddit visitors caused the charity’s website to crash, so Redditors with tech talent worked with the charity to make the site more resilient. I’ve never been happier to witness the goodness in people.” – dartdoug / Reddit

We may shy away from small acts of kindness because we assume that we can’t single-handedly save the world. We assume that helping others is outside of our control so we do nothing at all when in reality all it takes is for one person to step up and start a chain reaction that has the power to then create real change.

The Wrong Path leads To The Right One

“I turned right down a hallway is never been down before in college instead of taking my usual exit. Saw a job posting. Got the job. Met a girl at said job. 30 years together this coming July. Two grown daughters living their lives. Right instead of straight out the door did that.” – trees_are_beautiful / Reddit

The expression “when one door closes, another one opens” may have lost its meaning from being overly repeated when it never stopped being applicable. Sometimes doors stay closed for a good reason because the path behind them would have led you astray or simply kept you further from your destiny. Sometimes doors open then close because they were only meant to teach you something before pushing you towards another opened one that leads you on your life path. Trust in the universe.

In Death There Is Life

“My grandpa was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few years ago. When he called me to tell me he only had 6 months to live I stopped at the liquor store on my way home and bought a bottle of gin. My roommate came home shortly after and we drank for hours laughing, crying, and sharing deeply personal stories about our lives with one another.

Drunk, confident, and armed with the knowledge that we could die at any time I went in for a kiss. I was surprised she reciprocated and after that night we began dating. My grandpa died before our wedding, but I attribute the beautiful life that I have now to him.” randomhistoryteacher / Reddit

Life and death are an unavoidable part of life but how we chose to live and how we leave the world is what makes a difference. We never know how much time we have left so we might as well live every day like it could be our last. Fear holds you back. Instead embrace every day as an opportunity to work for the job that actually makes you feel fulfilled, love the person you assume is out of your league, travel to the place you always think you don’t have time for. Avoid having any sort of regrets on your deathbed.

In Sickness There Is Health

“My coworker’s family lived in Oklahoma City when she was younger. The daycare she went to was in the federal building that was bombed in 1995. That day her mom dropped her off at the daycare and headed to work. Her mom said she had a stomach ache and decided to call into work so she turned around and picked up her daughter from daycare then headed home. The bombing happened shortly after at around 9am ” hroinechicish / Reddit

Let this story be a reminder to trust your instincts and intuition. They are there to guide you and protect you even when they defy logic or don’t make sense at the moment. When you have a bad feeling or strong feeling about something, trust it. You may never know what it kept you from but at least that’s better than to be suffering its consequences.

Wrong Day, Right Time

“I had to call my heart surgeon to give him my new insurance number, which was delayed by a bit because I was waiting on the insurance lady to call, but she had the flu. When I finally called, the receptionist said, ‘Oh hey, we just had a cancellation for this Friday! Do you want it?’ Of course, I wanted to get it over with and not wait another full month, so I decided to take the open heart surgery cancellation appointment. Well, my surgeon said thank goodness I did because — once he got a look inside — he realized I would not have survived to the original appointment date.

So, if the insurance lady didn’t have the flu, I would have gotten those numbers sooner, called at a different time, and probably never have gotten the offer to have the surgery when I did. Someone else’s flu saved my life.” – myeggsarebig / Reddit

We tend to look at sickness, heartaches, mistakes, and unfortunate events as tragedies when really sometimes they present an opportunity for gratitude, growth, and change.

Blood Is The Strongest Bond

“I had to renew the sticker on my license plate a couple of years ago and really didn’t feel like sitting in the waiting room by myself forever, so I told my mom I’d take her out to dinner after if she came with me.

The guy working at the counter turned out to be my mom’s long-lost biological brother. If she hadn’t come with me, I would have never known.” Mutchie / Unsplash

Some bonds, such as family blood, are so strong that no matter how far apart you are, the universe finds the most unexpected way to bring you back together. The same can be said about soulmates
