When you think of Seoul, South Korea, what comes to mind? Busy markets? Sky scrapers? A bustling metropolis?
Many residents will tell you there’s one time of year that’s harder than the rest: the monsoon season. During the monsoon, torrential rain falls from the sky. Seattle can eat its heart out.
Of course, one way to bring color and energy back to the streets of the city during the gloomiest time of year is through art.
Project Monsoon, which features art inspired by South Korea’s culture, is an art project that only shows when it rains. It uses a special hydrochromic paint that is transparent when dry but shows up when wet.
The project aims to “give people something to look forward to this year’s monsoon season.”
