Empaths And Psychopaths – The War Between Deception And Truth

How do you feel as you examine the world around you? Not just your home or home nation, but the world. If you’re anything like me, it’s confusing.

I don’t understand how so many people come together and willingly and consistently treat others and the environment the way that they do. I’m not trying to vilify anyone or claim sainthood for myself. I’m pointing out the inconsistency of the human condition.

How is that so many people are trying to make the world a better place and rest are simply trying to survive? It boils down to that society has taught us that everyone has comparable feelings.

A Fine Line Between Guilt And Empathy

Everyone is trying to be a good person. Everyone feels guilt and empathy. This isn’t entirely true. I believe that everyone has feelings and reactions to events and people, but umbrella terms like guilt, sadness, or envy don’t cover the vast spread of subjective experience.

Society’s expectation of the basic development of these traits leads some people who develop slower or differently to learn to fake emotional similarities. These people never truly develop their emotional beings, they selectively grow and neglect what they need to be a part of society.

Dishonesty And Betrayal

The dishonest view they have of themselves is what leads to them unknowingly betray humanity.

The people that do the most harm to society and the planet, often believe they are working towards the greater good. They mix up what voices are saying what in their head.

They have no reliable scale with which to judge themselves, and never let people get close enough to their true selves to reveal the damage.

Familiar Strangers

The mix of good intentions and sound reasoning make it hard to pinpoint how sincere and sane a person is. Society encourages and revels in arm length relationships. As a result we are a society of strangers. But the kind of strangers that have massive amounts of basic information about each other.

The information you share and way that you relate to others should be a freeing experience, any comparison should highlight and celebrate differences. True differences, not an archetype that a person has learned about and slightly re written,so others think its original.

So What Now?

Pay attention to the way that others try to influence you. You should always keep in mind that people are trying to be ‘good’. The idea of good can be warped when we don’t share it with others. People who try to seem invulnerable all the time are great examples.

You shouldn’t assume everyone is out to get you but keep your wits about you and pay attention to the details. Only through encouragement and honesty can we coax others to put down their shields and share their true selves.
