You may be thinking to yourself how can one possibly be both an extrovert as well as an introvert?

Well, the combination of the two is not exactly the best thing you would hope for but we also have our certain ups and downs just like everyone else.

Although, we do tend to be some of the more complicated individuals compared to your run-of-the-mill extroverts/introverts.

We often pander toward both sides of just wanting to go out with our friends and having a good time as well as staying home and wanting to do absolutely nothing at all.

If you think you’re one of these strange creatures of being both extroverted as well as introverted, then you may want to look for these seven signs just to be sure you fit the bill.

1. Adore The Chance To Listen To Others

There is nothing you love more than getting the chance to hear maybe something new that you’ve never known before. Listening to others allows you to feel connected to them on an entirely different emotional level.

You allow others to express themselves especially when they feel as if there is no one else around that seems to want to be there for them in their time of need.

You relish in the opportunities of getting to be a part of someone else’s life in such an intimate way that you are more than willing to lend an empathetic ear to those who claim to have no one.

2. Your Alone Time Is Essential But Being Lonely Is Not

Yes, of course, everyone loves their alone time, but it doesn’t mean that we want that alone time all of the time. You prefer solitude whenever you need to decompress and sort through everything that happened to you that day.

However, you do not want to spend too much time alone because that can make you go insane almost instantly.

It’s good to take time to let yourself process what’s happening in your life but at the same time, you really want to go out with your friends tonight to maybe escape some of those daunting thoughts swimming around in your head.

3. Despise Being In An Unfamiliar Group Of People

You were maybe hoping that you would be spending time with your friend that brought you to this party but it turns out you get to hang out with all of the mutual friends you’ve never met before.

This can leave you feeling really uncomfortable simply for the fact you have no idea who anyone is or what they normally talk about and it drives you crazy because all you wanted to do was be with the person who brought you originally.

Of course, most new people who encounter each other are shy but this can make us clam up instantaneously for fear we might say something we will soon regret.

It might even get so bad to where you only stay for half an hour and then decide to leave.

4. You Are ALWAYS Thinking

Your head never stops thinking about anything and everything. It’s hard for you to just stop thinking about something so much especially when it’s managed to grip your attention the way it already has.

It’s hard for you to truly be in one spot for too long because you have so many other things that you need to do and so many other places that you have to be it’s hard to decide which should come first sometimes.

This also has some effects on the way you sleep at night since you can’t just snap your fingers and suddenly be asleep. Shutting out all of the noise in your head is a very tricky thing to do.

5. You Hate Making Decisions For The Future

Long-term decision-making is not our strong suit and anyone who knows you knows that about you.

You really do love going out and you love being with the people who go with you it’s just that you really detest being the person who has to decide on the location, time, and atmosphere.

This ties together with the way you overthink everything constantly. You can never truly decide on one place or one activity to do because there is just way too much potential for you to sort through to make an accurate decision.

It’s even worse when it comes to deciding on what you want to have for dinner that night.

6. You Want Everyone With You Or No One At All

You could be perfectly fine spending time alone at your house for the evening not making any major plans with your friends or the exact opposite.

Sometimes you want both, maybe you want to just have a few select friends over to enjoy some beers with you on the porch outside. Either way, you are extremely conflicted with what you want to do in order to entertain yourself as well as others.

Most of the time it’s a combination of the time but obviously we have to do the things that our friends want to do too.

7. You Cannot Stand Small Talk

One of the other things that you simply cannot stand is having to do small talk with people. You feel as if small talk is a complete waste of time to you and that you would rather be doing a million other things in that moment in time.

Sometimes it gets so bad or boring that you begin to daydream in the middle of whatever the other person is trying to say to you.

You’re the kind of person who wants depth in their conversations, you want people to have compassion when they’re talking to you, and you want people to be interesting instead of the same old boring nonsense they would normally talk about.

Hopefully, this has given some of you a glimpse into what it’s like to be an extroverted introvert and maybe this has helped some of you identify just how much of an extroverted introvert you truly are.
