5 Signs That You’ve Found The Right Relationship For You

Oftentimes, the part of intimate relationships that gets the most attention is the part where we search for it, we find it, we lose it, we grow, and we search for it again. It’s as if “love” only exists in these tiny spaces at the beginnings and ends of relationships.

But, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Love takes on a different form once the dust settles from the often highly passionate and fiery first stages of falling for one another. It’s this type of love that doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

If you’re feeling as though your relationship isn’t what you had in mind, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s “wrong” for you.

Here are five signs that you’ve found the right relationship, and need to see where it will take you:

If you’ve started pondering whether or not your relationship still has the flame that it once did, it can be a sign that you’re starting to move into the kind of love that is real, intimate, and full of respect.

This type of love brings with it a sense of comfort and ease, which can be a bit disconcerting because you’re used to the thrill of the chase, or the highly emotional end.

If your partner still makes you feel like you’re the best version of yourself (and not like you’re settling), you’re where you need to be.

You overcome old habits from past relationships

For many of us, we’ve dated at least a few people, and from each relationship to the next, we’ve learned something about ourselves and how we function within them.

Once you’re able to recognize old, negative relationship patterns coming out in your current one, you also have the ability to let go of them and make the right choice.

It is when we are with the perfect partner that these patterns are obvious and easy to get rid of.

You recognize that you’re responsible for your happiness

Of course, we derive happiness from our relationships. But, we should also be able realize that much of our happiness can only be created by ourselves.

If you feel your partner no longer makes you happy, think about all of the things you should be doing to make yourself feel happier.

There will undoubtedly be moments of unhappiness in any relationship. You can survive them by managing expectations and not developing unhealthy (or unrealistic) attachments.

You accept each other completely

If you wholeheartedly accept your partner for everything that they are, including their flaws and imperfections, and they do the same with you, you’ve found something special.

The “right” relationship for you is one where neither person is trying to change the other; you’re both just happy to be together.

You’re both willing to make it work

One of the hardest truths to accept is that even the healthiest, happiest relationships have problems.

A relationship will only survive these problems if both people have a strong desire to overcome any adversity that gets between them.

But, this also means that you have to work at it. You have to want to build your bond stronger and stronger, and that only happens through a willingness to compromise and sacrifice for your significant other.
