7 Good Reasons To Remain Single

Being single doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing, and not everyone who is single wants to be in a relationship!

Some of us are as single as we’ve been for a long time and there’s nothing wrong with that!

Here are 7 perfectly good reasons why, after all this time, you’re still single.

1. You don’t need to be in a couple to be happy.

It’s simple to you but a crazy concept to some people, that you could be easily as happy on your own as you could be as one half of a relationship, but it’s true.

You’re not opposed to being with someone and maybe it’ll happen eventually, but for now you are completely content being just you and that’s a good thing.

Settling for someone who isn’t a good match for you because you’re not okay with being alone is a recipe for disaster!

2. Who needs a significant other when you’ve got fantastic friends?

A perk of the single life is that your friendships can be deeper and more meaningful because you’ve got more time, effort and energy to put into them.

When you’re surrounded by great people who know and care about you all the time, a committed relationship with one person can almost seem like a downgrade.

3. Freedom!

This one is pretty self-explanatory, but there’s just nothing like having complete freedom over yourself and your life.

You don’t have to worry about anyone else when it comes to your decisions and you have total autonomy.

4. You know what your companionship is worth.

As we mentioned earlier, there are people out there who are so uncomfortable being on their own that they think every person who smiles at them on the street is true love in disguise, and the reality is that this attitude brings a lot of serious heartache and risk with it.

You know that you deserve to be with someone who’s really right for you and you’re not willing to settle for anything less!

5. You know the value of establishing yourself first.

Being in love with someone can be a beautiful thing, but knowing and loving yourself first is essential for successful and healthy relationships later on in life.

Especially when you’re young, there’s no rush and no need for urgency, take the time and make the effort to establish who you are, find out what’s important to you as a person and put some time in chasing a crazy dream or working toward your passion.

It’s something not so easy to do while you’re in a relationship and it will teach you more than anything about who you are deep down.

6. You can take up the whole bed.

This one may sound a little silly, but it’s true and it’s actually backed up by science! Research shows that people who sleep alone get more restful sleep and suffer much less sleep deprivation.

It can even positively affect your brain function.

7. You’d rather skip the drama.

Even the most stable and laid-back relationship comes with it’s own set of issues, and that means drama.

Arguments, fights, difficulties with scheduling and foolish misunderstandings, who needs it? Not you, friend!

If somebody who might be worth all of it comes along then sure, we’ll give it a go, but for now we’ve got better things to do.
